As we experience life and travel its journey, we each encounter emptiness... a dark void of “something” missing in our life. Countless hours and many miles are spent trying to fill this void while we aimlessly search for happiness, meaning, contentment, and purpose. There are numerous avenues we cross in life that promise to provide these things and more, but nearly all fall short when it comes to delivering the goods.

The Bible says in Matthew 7:13-14, "...wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it...narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.”

The only way to find true happiness, meaning, contentment, and purpose is through a meaningful connection with God through His Son, Jesus Christ. The things of this world will not fill that void in our lives. “Religion” in itself will not fill that emptiness. Only through a vibrant, daily relationship with God through Christ can we tap into our purpose and destiny.

God is closer than you think. He loves you just the way you are and is knocking at the door of your heart. To respond, simply recognize your sins and your need for a Savior. Through prayer, invite Him into your heart and ask Him to make you into a new person from the inside out. Believe that Jesus is God’s only Son and that He died to forgive you of sins and to bring you back to God.

Once you make that proclamation through faith in Christ, you are a new creation...a new person. This is the beginning of a wonderful journey full of excitement, adventure, joy, and change. It is vital that you do not travel this road alone. Find a church where you can grow in Christ and discover your place in God’s Kingdom. Get involved in that church and learn the joys of serving God through serving others.
